Home to 700 million young people, Asia Pacific has an opportunity to help shape the future of AI and work. Preparing the region’s workforce will require governments, educators, employers, and young people to work together to:

• Close AI readiness gaps between countries, communities, and businesses.

• Build the workforce capabilities needed to support AI infrastructure.

• Translate AI investment into productivity and innovation.

• Prepare young people for entry-level roles transformed by AI.

• Strengthen education and training systems through adaptive curricula, educator development, industry partnerships, and lifelong learning pathways.

• Include young people in decisions about how AI is developed and used.

The AI Workforce Blueprint, jointly authored by JA Asia Pacific, the JA Institute, and Ecosystm, examines how work may evolve through 2035 and offers a roadmap for preparing people, organizations, and education systems for an AI-enabled future.

Developed under the guidance of the JA Asia Pacific AI Council, the report introduces a “three horizons” framework that traces the evolution of work from AI-assisted productivity and role redesign to AI-orchestrated operations and interconnected human-AI ecosystems.

The report finds that workforce readiness requires more than proficiency with specific AI tools. As technologies, industries, and jobs continue to evolve, durable skills such as critical thinking, creativity, judgment, adaptability, collaboration, and problem-solving will become even more important.
